Ability to survive in harsh environment ?

Hi,
We are evaluating to use Mpu6500 as a IMU in our project. Unfortunately, the inertial sensor of the IMU can be damaged when harsh enviromental condition is exerted, especially the vibration and shock. As mentioned in datasheet, the IMU can stand 10000g(0.2ms) acceleration shock in any axis. My question is that if multi-axex acceleration shock are exerted at the same time, what will be the results ? Our experimental tests has shown undesired datum. Is there anyone can give me a more accurate reference ? Can we discuss about the ability of the IMU to survive in harsh environment ?
