Hi All
I am sure I am probably in the minority who prefers analog outputs rather than the digital, i2c output etc. I understand the reduction of wires, but personally I feel it brings down performance.
If you look at the block diagram for the invensense sensors, they all have an analog output internally that is then converted to a digital output and then into a two wire interface i2c. Why does invensense not just provide the analog output and let the user handle the digitization in any way they please. Now if there is a microcontroller involved, it generally has an ADC and that would immediately provide the interface. I am thinking that the analog output will at a much higher rate output and can be used for more "dynamic" (really fast in time) applications.
Also as far as I could find out, there are 3-axis accelerometers that have analog output, but most gyros are digital :(
