I am working on very low power application, so I look for anything I can use to conserve power.
http://demo5.baytechdata.com/invensense/mems/gyro/documents/RM-MPU-6500A-00.pdf Register PWR_MGMT_1 has bit GYRO_STANDBY which is described as "This is a low power mode that allows quick enabling of the
gyros.". Meanwhile there is not much more information. Only http://demo5.baytechdata.com/invensense/mems/gyro/documents/PS-MPU-6500A-01.pdf indicates that standby mode is 1.6mA. Again no info what "standby" means.
Questions:
* Usually gyro starts very slowly. As much I understand, "standby mode" is something which online mode can be enabled fast. How fast? If I just clear this bit in PWR_MGMT_1, can I instantly read valid data back from gyroscope?
* Anything else I should know or notice? For example is it just enough to write "1" and expect MPU 6500 to take 1.6mA? Will all sort of smart accelerator modes still work and power consumption is fixed to 1.6mA not depending on these?
* Any link to document describing all this?
Thanks in advance!
