I2C IO Pins when device is not powered

Hello,

I am using an MPU 9050 with the I2C bus shared with other peripherals. If the MPU 9050 device is not powered, can I still used the shared I2C bus to communicate with the other peripherals? On other words, do the open collector I2C pins stay in a high impedance mode when the device is not powered?
