JTAG Connection to MotionFit

Hello,

I am struggling to connect to the MotionFit SDK board using the MSP-FET430UIF that has version 3 of firmware. I have tried several tools including MSP430Flasher and SmartRF programmer from TI and mspdebug. But both MSP430Flasher and mspdebug output a similar error,

Could not set device Vcc (error = 10)
device initialisation failed

I have connected the cable as shown in the Kickstart guide to the 14 pin connector that I have soldered to the board with pin 1 of the cable and connector properly connected. I also switch the board on before attempting to make the JTAG connection.

Has anyone been successful in connecting to the board with V3 based MSP-FET430UIF?
