MPU-6050 thermal chamber results – Hysteresis

By m._stanley , 28 March 2012

As I said in a recent post, I am attempting to characterise the MPU-6050 as a first step towards robust calibration. Part of this is achieved by logging the gyroscope zero-rate output over -20˚C to +70˚C. All investigations are conducted for a batch of 8 devices.

Results (see plot attached to identical post: http://forum.sparkfun.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=31992) suggest that the bias temperature relationship incorporates a hysteresis. This behaviour is observed for all tested devices. Other temperature sensitive devices monitored during these tests (magnetometer and crystal oscillator) do not display this behaviour.

Can anyone offer an explanation for this?
