MPU-9150 response time

By bryring , 20 March 2014

I am measuring the output of the 9150 gyro. It appears that the calculated angle is about 20-30 milliseconds late at the start. Below is some actual data. In this particular case, the angle measured by the gyro catches up at about 40 milliseconds and (not shown here) it overshoots after that point. Is this the expected output? I would like to have something with at least 1/10th the response time of this but I would be happy with any improvement. Would another gyro (the IDG-202 for example) be more suitable. Could this behavior be deduced from the spec sheets so I could choose the best gyro for my application? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
