I received a MPU9250 breakout board from Invensense (embeddedmasters.com built, I believe) and I am having several issues with it.
Firstly, I have to usually remove then reapply power to get the proper device ID from the MPU6500. Does this board have pullup resistors on it? I would like a schematic. Is it the same as Figure 3 in the AN-IVS-0001SFF-00 application note?
I have no trouble configuring and accessing data from the AK8963 with 16-bit resolution. However, when I change to 14-bit resolution, I get magnetometer data twice themagnitude I expect. Is it possible this mode is still the 13-bit resolution of the old AK8975A?
The worst problem is nonsensical accelerometer, gyro, and temperature data. The data jumps around and doesn't respond as expected when I rotate the sensor. It behaves very unstably compared to the MPU-9150. And lying on a table at rest, it show, when momentarily stable, a positive 1025 mg value for the y-axis! Something is very wrong with this device.
Is it possible that 1) the device does not conform to the register descriptions, 2) it is a bad device that needs replacement, or 3) I have made some egregious error in configuration and register reading.
Please advise. I have attached some output from he serial monitor so you can see what I mean. I am happy to provide more details concerning my setup. Thank you for your help.
