MSP430 or STM32

hello every ,I use the DMP STM32F103 MCU,but I'm confused with DMP and MPL,I think they are different thing,DMP is a hardware function,MPL is a software,the data from DMP is not compensated or just a simple way(it said when MPU detects no motion >8S ,it will compensated the gyro,I think the method is sampling several no motion data and use their average as the bias,I wonder if i was right? ) but not has a temperature compensate。
my question is is the MPL compensate result is more better, if invensense's algorithm is much better I want use it and change my MCU to MSP430,if the MPL change the data quality a little.......I will not use DMP and MPL,just use my old mathod: power on,no motion for a few seconds sampling 1000 or more and do their average as the bias!
