rh.nav_quat initialization problem

I ported the EMPL 6.1 to contiki OS and I was able to compile and link successfully.
However, I always get 1,0,0,0 in quaternion output.
I drilled down to "inv_get_quaternion" method in results_holder.c file, and I see in this method that "rh.nav_quat" memory is copied to MPL quaternion "data" but I can not find where "rh.nav_quat" is populated. So, it seems that rh.nav_quat always give its initial value.
Could any invensense employee or an expert tell me why I can not find "rh.nav_quat" value update in the code?
