Unable to communicate with PC to INV-ARMEVB

By xbjch , 3 December 2013

This is a continuation of a discussion held back in Nov 2012, put forth by pdb: "I'm running Windows 7 and when I plug th INV-ARMEVB board into a USB port, it loads a GPS Camara Device driver. I can see it in Device Manager on a COM port, but it doesn't appear to communicate. The red LED on the INV-ARMEVB but nothing else"

The solution in the middle of the thread was to point to the driver included in the Embedded MotionDriver v5.1 package.

The problem I am having is that my device is not releasing the GPS camera driver. When I try to update the driver by right clicking the GPS camera driver, and then provide a path to core>driver>eMPL, I am informed that "Windows has determined the driver is up-to-date" and retains the GPS camera driver. If I, on the other hand, uninstall the GPS camera driver and prompt for its deletion, the scan for hardware changes, then point to the eMPL driver, the GPS Camera Driver pops up again!

Any suggestions here? Thanks.
