We have just received the MotionFit board with the MPU-9150 are very impressed with the performance.
I am however a bit confused as to what is handled on the MPU-9150 (DMP) and what is handled on the MSP430 (MLP). As far as I understand the sensor fusion happen on the MPU-9150 and the calibration on the MSP430. I can see that there is calibration of the gyro bias, but is there calibration of the other sensors as well?
In the FAQ it says that the motion fusion is only 6-axis and not 9-axis, but that it will be available in a future release. So MotionFit board does not have 9-axis sensor fusion - I thought that was the whole point?
Is the MotionApps software different for the MPU-6050 and the MPU-9150?

Re: Re: Understanding the MPU-9150
The current version of Embedded MotionApps Lite utilizes the on-board DMP, in combination with routines stored on the MSP430 in order to provide 9-axis fused, stabilized orientation data. In order to leverage the various auto-calibration techniques, the Embedded MotionApps Lite software platform is required on the host platform. The software for the MotionFit SDK was designed specifically for this kit.
Our Embedded MotionApps for Atmel AVR UC3 is designed for the MPU-6050
