I'm working on a product where we plan to use the MPU-9150 with a MSP430F5342. The MSP430F5342 is close enough to the MSP430F5528 that the "eMPL-wSDK-test" code compiles and loads just fine onto the MSP430F5342 but I need the MSP430 System Layer *.c driver files to make some small modifications and to ensure compatibility. I don't need any of the implementation for the eMPL, just the implementation for the MSP430 System Layer APIs. We would like to start manufacturing our product in high volume as soon as the MPU-9150 is available for mass production. I'm happy to sign any NDAs. Could I get a copy of those files?
Re: Re: MSP430 System Layer
Anyone reading this post: InvenSense contacted me and took care my needs. I appreciate their efforts and support. I am very satisfied with the performance of the MPU-9150 and am excited for its use in our products.
Thanks InvenSense.
Re: Re: MSP430 System Layer
Hi hackoh,
I am considering doing the exact same thing....and I was wondering how difficult/easy it was to get the MSP430 system layer C files and to integrate them with the remaining code.
Thanks,
Danny
Re: Re: MSP430 System Layer
Danny,
Getting the MSP430F5342 working with the MSP430F5528's compiled library and eMPL-wSDK-test code was easy and the communication seem to work fine. For a product, I wanted to have more control of the drivers to make sure the chip performed its best so I asked for the system layer files from Invensense under a NDA. I had no issues developing the embedded code I needed. My prototypes work great. I'm under the assumption that Invensense will eventually release these libraries and more support for different controllers sometime in the future. I went with the MSP430F5342 because of my design requirements but also because I'm rushing a product out as fast as I can. If I had time to wait, I might have gone with a different microcontroller.
Good Luck,
Nate
