CH101 vs. CH201

By asilvametergroupcom , 20 April 2020

I just learned about the new CH201. What are the differences in relation to CH101?
Only range extended to 5m?
Does CH101 also have an embedded DSP as CH201?

Hi, just a range is difference, all other things are the same (propably different piezos are inside with different detection thresholds). Do you have experience with ch101? I figured out that ch101 has problem with stationary objects with distances below 85 mm? Did You observed the same behaviour? When object is moving within 40 to 85 mm distance all the readouts are fine. When object stop 10 to 20 measurements are fine and next a series are wrong and again fine (the number of wrong and good points are random). I do not understand this phenomena since they said in ds only 40 mm distance should be a problem but it seems the moving range detection is wider then expected...

Key differences between the CH-201 and CH-101 seem to be the range (0.04-1.2m for the CH-101 vs 0.2-5m for CH-201) and the maximum field of view (45 deg with 201 vs 180deg with 101).

The product brief is available on the TDK website now (https://invensense.tdk.com/download-pdf/ch-201-product-brief/)
